Description

The Bridge is seeking a compassionate and skilled Therapist to provide trauma-informed, evidence-based servicestosurvivorsofdomesticandsexualviolence.Thisroledeliversindividual,family,andgrouptherapy, supporting clients in achieving safety, stability, and progress toward their personal goals.
TheTherapistconductscomprehensiveintakesandclinicalassessments,formulatesdiagnosesusingDSM criteria, anddevelopsindividualizedtreatmentplanstailoredto eachclient’sneeds.Thispositionprovides ongoing therapeutic support, psychoeducation,and skill-building to help clients process trauma, strengthen coping strategies, and promote long-term healing.
Responsibilities also include crisis intervention services such as risk assessment, safety planning, and de- escalation.TheTherapistrespondstocrisishotlinecallsasneededandparticipatesinarotating24-houron- call schedule to provide in-person advocacy and support at local hospitals, collaborating with law enforcement and other emergency personnel when appropriate.
The Therapist may provide court-related support, including preparing clients for legal proceedings and offering follow-up support. Additional responsibilities include maintaining timely and accurate clinical documentation,collaboratingwithamultidisciplinaryteam,andparticipatingincaseconsultationstoensure coordinated care.
Thisrolerequiresacommitmenttoprofessionalgrowthandstayingcurrentwithbestpracticesintrauma- informed care, while actively supporting the mission and community impact of The Bridge.
 

RequiredSkills&Qualifications

  • Master’sdegreeinCounseling,SocialWork,Psychology,orarelatedhumanservicesfield.
  • Must hold an active Texas clinical license (LMFT, LPC, or LCSW) in good standing; provisionally licensedcandidatesmaybeconsideredwithapprovedclinicalsupervisioninaccordancewithlicensing board requirements.
  • BilingualEnglish/Spanishpreferredbutnotrequired.
  • Minimumofthree(3)yearsofexperienceworkingwithat-riskortrauma-impactedpopulations, preferably survivors of domestic or sexual violence.
  • Knowledgeofcommunity,legal,andmentalhealthresourcessupportingsurvivorsofdomestic/sexual violence and homelessness.
  • Abilitytoconductcrisisintervention,implementsafetyplanning,andrespondindependentlyinhigh- stress situations.
  • Stronginterpersonalandcommunicationskillswiththeabilitytoengagediversepopulations.
  • Demonstratedability tofacilitatesupport orpsychoeducationalgroups.
  • Abilitytoestablishandmaintainprofessionalboundariesinaccordancewithethicalstandards.
  • Strongverbalandwrittencommunicationskills.
  • Abilitytoworkaflexibleschedule,includingweekdayswithoccasionaleveningsandweekendsas program needs require.

  • Must pass criminal background check.
  • Must provide and maintain current TX Driver’s License.
  • Must provide and maintain clean driving record and annually update driving record.
  • Must provide and maintain current auto liability insurance.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to lift/carry (40) lbs, and ascend/descend stairs in emergency shelter setting.
