Description
The Bridge is seeking a compassionate and skilled Therapist to provide trauma-informed, evidence-based servicestosurvivorsofdomesticandsexualviolence.Thisroledeliversindividual,family,andgrouptherapy, supporting clients in achieving safety, stability, and progress toward their personal goals.
TheTherapistconductscomprehensiveintakesandclinicalassessments,formulatesdiagnosesusingDSM criteria, anddevelopsindividualizedtreatmentplanstailoredto eachclient’sneeds.Thispositionprovides ongoing therapeutic support, psychoeducation,and skill-building to help clients process trauma, strengthen coping strategies, and promote long-term healing.
Responsibilities also include crisis intervention services such as risk assessment, safety planning, and de- escalation.TheTherapistrespondstocrisishotlinecallsasneededandparticipatesinarotating24-houron- call schedule to provide in-person advocacy and support at local hospitals, collaborating with law enforcement and other emergency personnel when appropriate.
The Therapist may provide court-related support, including preparing clients for legal proceedings and offering follow-up support. Additional responsibilities include maintaining timely and accurate clinical documentation,collaboratingwithamultidisciplinaryteam,andparticipatingincaseconsultationstoensure coordinated care.
Thisrolerequiresacommitmenttoprofessionalgrowthandstayingcurrentwithbestpracticesintrauma- informed care, while actively supporting the mission and community impact of The Bridge.
RequiredSkills&Qualifications
- Master’sdegreeinCounseling,SocialWork,Psychology,orarelatedhumanservicesfield.
- Must hold an active Texas clinical license (LMFT, LPC, or LCSW) in good standing; provisionally licensedcandidatesmaybeconsideredwithapprovedclinicalsupervisioninaccordancewithlicensing board requirements.
- BilingualEnglish/Spanishpreferredbutnotrequired.
- Minimumofthree(3)yearsofexperienceworkingwithat-riskortrauma-impactedpopulations, preferably survivors of domestic or sexual violence.
- Knowledgeofcommunity,legal,andmentalhealthresourcessupportingsurvivorsofdomestic/sexual violence and homelessness.
- Abilitytoconductcrisisintervention,implementsafetyplanning,andrespondindependentlyinhigh- stress situations.
- Stronginterpersonalandcommunicationskillswiththeabilitytoengagediversepopulations.
- Demonstratedability tofacilitatesupport orpsychoeducationalgroups.
- Abilitytoestablishandmaintainprofessionalboundariesinaccordancewithethicalstandards.
- Strongverbalandwrittencommunicationskills.
- Abilitytoworkaflexibleschedule,includingweekdayswithoccasionaleveningsandweekendsas program needs require.
