Job Purpose:

  • Therapeutic Mentor works with individuals to improve overall functioning within their community and daily life. Therapeutic Mentors act as a positive role model while incorporating therapeutic goals established with the CAT team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients to support their emotional and social development.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to create individualized treatment plans tailored to each client's needs.
  • Facilitate one-on-one and group mentoring sessions to promote positive behavioral changes and skill development.
  • Assist clients in identifying personal goals and implementing strategies to achieve them.
  • Monitor and document client progress, providing regular updates to the clinical team and family members.
  • Encourage and support clients in participating in community activities and programs to enhance their social skills and integration.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and professional standards in all interactions with clients and their families.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in therapeutic mentoring.

Required Education:

  • High School degree/GED

Required Experience:

  • Experience with adults who have severe and persistent mental illness

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of therapeutic techniques and behavioral management strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate and detailed client records.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and schedules.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning in the field of behavioral health.
