Colorado Associates Medical Physics (CAMP)  seeks Therapeutic Medical Physicist, Cheyenne, WY: The Therapeutic Medical Physicist is primarily engaged in ensuring high standards in the planning/optimization, delivery and evaluation of radiation therapy and/or imaging procedures, and in this capacity, is responsible for ensuring the accurate and consistent performance of radiological equipment and for verifying the accuracy and adequacy of treatment plans and dose calculations and the technical aspects of imaging procedures. The Therapeutic Medical Physicist also acts as a resource for ensuring the safe use of radiation.

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Physics
  • Two (2) year experience in clinical radiotherapy physics
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience with calibration, data measurement, and data

analysis of accelerator x-ray and electron beams and sealed isotope sources.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience with radiation shielding calculations and room

design, machine installation and acceptance testing, and treatment planning computer

quality assurance.

Preferred:

  • Two (2) years of strong technical writing skills and organizational skills; demonstrable

ability to design an effective and coherent program for dose modeling, machine quality

control and process quality assurance.

  • Two (2) years of demonstrable command of, and commitment to, a program of effective

process quality assurance and quality improvement.

  • Two (2) years of experience with hospital radiation protection program implementation.
  • Two (2) years of good interpersonal skills; effective time management skills.
  • Two (2) years of experience with computer operating systems and networks.
  • Two (2) years of demonstrable ability to maintain professional skills / competence

appropriate to the radiological physics services provided by corporation. Ability to

maintain clinical competence appropriate to the needs of the age groups served by

radiation oncology. Alternative Education Requirement:

  • Ph.D. in Physics, Physical Sciences or a related field.
