Position in the West Place Drop-In Center
The Therapeutic Activities Assistant who will model recovery-based behavior in a community-based behavioral health program. A Drop-In Center is a central place for self-help, advocacy, education, and socialization. As a therapeutic activities assistant, the job provides an opportunity for assisting mental health consumers on socializing and networking that addresses the isolation felt by many, especially those in mental health recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engaging membership in activities. • Assist in preparing and cooking meals. • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the program. • Participate in and accompany members in outings and activities. • Ensure the safety of the program, programs property, and individuals attending the program. • Complete documentation that is associated with the program. • Follow all program and organization policies and procedures.
Physical and Working Conditions:
Ability to perform the Essential Functions on the Physical Conditions chart; and the ability to perform the Essential Functions on the Working Conditions chart (see attached charts).

• Ability to effectively engage and motivate members to participate in activities offered at Drop In. • Act honestly and ethically in all member interactions. • Ability to effectively work as a member of a multidisciplinary team and encourage building of natural community support.
