Description

We seek applicants for a part-time Testing Facilitator to administer and provide test security for exams proctored in the College's Testing Center, including placement, make-up, and community proctoring. This position will also provide administrative and data entry support for the Testing Center.

This position will include evening and weekend hours.

General responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Manage testing room operations and actively proctor exams in accordance with established guidelines to ensure test integrity.
  • Perform opening, daily, and closing responsibilities for the Testing Center, depending on the schedule.
  • Maintain confidentiality of students and other individuals who utilize the Testing Center in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
  • Review test scores and related outcomes with students.
  • Maintain familiarity and compliance with testing vendors' policies and procedures through ongoing training.
  • Under the direction of the Associate Director, manage the collection, maintenance, and security of data and records pertaining to services provided. Produce reports from the data as requested.
  • Provide excellent customer service through daily interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
  • Participate in training new Test Facilitators and Test Proctors as needed.
  • Enforce policies, complete incident reports for all policy violations, and regularly apprise the Associate Director.
  • Under the direction of the Associate Director, verify Course and Placement testing appointments, and assist with the preparation and proctoring of group exams.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or appropriate experience/education
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software, especially Word and Excel
  • Ability to learn and utilize various computer programs
  • Ability to effectively enforce established policies and procedures
  • Ability to use good judgment and effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to become a certified test administrator as needed

Desired Qualifications

  • Work experience in a testing environment
  • Familiarity with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
  • Experience with data management

EMPLOYEE LEAVE

Vacation: 10 days (80 hours) per year with a maximum annual carry-over of 20 days (160 hours); Accrual of 3.08 hours will be granted on the last day of each pay period

Sick Leave: 6 days (48 hours) per year with unlimited annual carry-over;

6 days (48 hours) granted on start date; Beginning on the first anniversary, accrual of 1.85 hours will be granted on the last day of each pay period

Volunteer Leave: 1/2 day (4 hours) per year with no annual carry-over; 4 hours granted on start date, then annually granted at the start of the calendar year on January 1

Special Leave: Available by approval for bereavement, emergencies, and legal requirements

Parental Leave: 4 weeks for qualifying events once per 12-month rolling period

Holidays: 12 designated paid holidays plus an additional three 1/2 day floating holidays (12 hours); Floating holidays granted on start date, then annually granted on the anniversary date. HCC is closed from Christmas Eve Day through New Year's Day generally resulting in additional paid days
