Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

In partnership with faculty, staff and graduate students, OASIS provides thoughtful, innovative and sustainable technical solutions to advance the College's mission to 'prepare people to solve the world's most challenging problems.' Information Services provides technology solutions and services in support of the College of Arts and Science's mission; specifically, it puts a personal face on technology services, delivering 'hands-on' personal, network and instructional technology support to the College community. The Office: (1) coordinates all information technology services at the College level; (2) establishes and implements College level computing policy and procedures; (3) represents and advocates information technology interests of the College to the broader community; and (4) acts as the primary liaison between the College and University Information Technology Services. The Office reports directly to the Dean's office, College of Arts and Sciences.

Position Summary

The Undergraduate Testing Center Coordinator is a technically focused position responsible for the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the College of Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Testing Center and associated computer lab environments. This role ensures secure, reliable, and well-supported computing and testing spaces for undergraduate students, with a strong emphasis on exam security, academic integrity, and technology reliability.

The coordinator manages lab and testing center technology, schedules and trains staff, maintains hardware and software environments, administers scheduling and booking systems, and provides data-driven insights to support planning and decision-making. This position requires advanced attention to detail, strong technical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to support high-stakes, time-sensitive testing environments.

In addition to these technical and administrative duties, the coordinator must put service first in their interactions with instructors and students by maintaining channels of communication, facilitating easy booking, and managing a fluctuating semester-based schedule. The coordinator must prepare for student staff turnover as workers graduate or have schedule changes.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Associate's degree in Computer Information Technology, computer Technology Integration, Networking Technology, or related area and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the position's role; or

  • Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year experience in the information technology field related to the position's role; or
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, math or engineering or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Journey level required an additional one year of experience
  • Advanced level required an additional two years of experience.

Management Preferences

  • Excellent communication and technology skills in order to seek out and understand faculty, staff, and student academic technology needs, develop appropriate responses, communicate next steps, and marshal resources to implement solutions.
  • Experience managing, training, and scheduling staff.
  • Experience working with MS Office including connecting external applications such as Qualtrics to Excel workbooks and connecting data between Excel spreadsheets.
  • Familiarity with instructional pedagogies and tools specifically as they relate to higher education.
  • Previously demonstrated experience within active learning and assessment spaces such as testing centers, teaching labs, academic research and pedagogy, training, documentation, and formal presentations.
