Test Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Test Engineer – Level 2 in Goleta, CA for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment while supporting product testing throughout the full test lifecycle. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute testing activities, analyze results, improve testing processes, and help ensure products meet customer and operational requirements.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 2 years of test experience, or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline
• Experience troubleshooting test equipment, test tooling, and test harnesses
• Experience with test automation or lean manufacturing/testing methodologies
• Demonstrated technical writing and/or procedure development skills
• Ability to travel between Goleta, CA and Oxnard, CA sites, with approximately 10% customer travel as needed
• U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Skills

• 3+ years of test engineering experience
• Experience with test automation software such as LabVIEW or similar tools
• Experience measuring and controlling electronic components such as motors, actuators, positional sensing devices, and load transducers
• Aerospace or aeronautical industry experience
• Strong presentation, verbal, written, and listening communication skills
• Self-motivated with strong organizational and prioritization abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment
• Experience with Jira and Confluence

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment
• Plan, coordinate, set up, execute, and document product testing activities
• Integrate products with test tooling, software, equipment, and instrumentation
• Collect, review, reduce, and report test data while supporting test requirement verification
• Develop and maintain technical test documentation
• Participate in internal and customer technical reviews and presentations
• Recommend improvements to testing equipment, procedures, manufacturing processes, and testing requirements
• Leverage modern tools and methods to improve testing efficiency, reduce costs, and shorten schedules
• Support the Operations Test Engineering Manager in meeting safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives

Work Schedule / Shift

• Must be able to support multiple shifts:
  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 4:45 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 12:00 Midnight
