Overview:
Coordinates and assists with implementing a variety of K-12 STEM Outreach educational programs for the College of Sciences and Mathematics, with particular emphasis on Science Olympiad programming.
Temporary Employment Services (TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:
- Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
- Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
- Assistance with special projects
- Seasonal work
- Emergencies

Responsibilities:
- Coordinates aspects of Outreach-related educational program(s) and service(s) to include the development, planning, and execution of programs.
- Oversees and organizes event logistics that may include but are not limited to reserving space, managing program registrations, communicating event specifics with participants, campus event approval, program guides, securing vendor rentals, audiovisual needs, and event security.
- Oversees support activities for events such as set-up, catering, cleaning, breakdown, etc. ensuring the event operates without disruption.
- Establishes and evaluates successful metrics for program(s) and incorporates changes as needed to ensure continuous growth and success of program(s).
- Develops, coordinates, and facilitates training and professional development for staff, volunteers, and educators to support Outreach programs, curriculum implementation, and instructional best practices.
- Works in conjunction with other staff and/or volunteers to support current programs and identify new opportunities.
- May be responsible for assisting in marketing and communication efforts.
- Support regional and invitational Science Olympiad tournaments and tournament hosts in Alabama, including some limited travel.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) discipline with K-12 teaching experience or experience working with youth, or degree in science education with teaching experience.
Pay Range:
USD $18.00 - USD $25.00 /Yr.
