The Department of Community and Global Health at the Indiana University Indianapolis (IUI) Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the level of Associate Professor or Full Professor. We are particularly interested in mid-career and senior scholars with established research programs and strong records of external funding. This position requires on-site presence in Indianapolis consistent with school and campus expectations.
Position Overview
This 12-month appointment (expected start date on or around July 1, 2026) emphasizes excellence in research, teaching, and service with a strong commitment to advancing local and/or global public health. The successful candidate will be a seasoned researcher, scholarly leader, and experienced mentor with a strong history of external funding. He/she will establish and maintain local and/or global strategic partnerships and contribute to building the department's research and educational capacity.

Primary Responsibilities
Research and Scholarly Excellence
The faculty member will establish and maintain a vigorous, externally funded research program from federal agencies (NIH, NSF, CDC), foundations, industry, or other sources. The successful candidate will publish in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences, while mentoring junior faculty and graduate students. The position requires building upon and expanding the department's existing research infrastructure and partnerships.
We seek candidates with demonstrated research expertise in areas such as: social determinants of health and health disparities; implementation science and program evaluation; prevention and management of chronic diseases; and social/behavioral sciences. Preference for candidates with established community partnerships and applied experience within the United States and/or internationally.
Teaching and Mentorship
The faculty member will contribute to undergraduate and graduate programs, particularly the MPH program, MS in Global Health and Sustainable Development, and/or DrPH in Global Health Leadership. The successful candidate will mentor and advise doctoral students, serve on doctoral committees, and develop innovative curricula reflecting contemporary public health challenges. The position requires demonstrating excellence in both in-person and online/asynchronous teaching.
Leadership and Service
The faculty member will contribute to departmental strategic planning and program development and serve on department, school, and university committees. The position involves building and maintaining external partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, NGOs, and/or international organizations, while mentoring junior faculty in research and career development.
