Job Summary
This position will enforce local, state, and federal laws; prevent and suppress crime and accidents; promote public safety through community policing principles. This is a temporary position from 8/7-8/14/2026.
Candidates will be paid $32.84 per hour. Lodging will be provided. Meals and mileage will be reimbursed at SD state rates.
Candidates must be State Firearm Certified (if certified from another state, candidates will need to qualify with Spearfish Police Department.) Candidates must be sworn police officers in any U.S. state.
Candidates must provide law enforcement equipment along with pants and boots. Spearfish Police Department will provide a Spearfish Police Department polo shirt, radio, body camera, and ammunition for 9mm firearm.
