SUMMARY OF OPPORTUNTIY:

The Temporary Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and functional temporary facilities throughout assigned construction projects. Approximately 70-80% of this position involves maintaining temporary restroom facilities, restocking supplies, conducting daily inspections, managing inventory, and supporting overall jobsite cleanliness and organization. This position supports jobsite operations through restroom servicing, facility inspections, inventory management, trash removal, housekeeping, and general site safety inspections.

The Temporary Facilities Technician plays a critical role in maintaining a professional, organized, and compliant work environment while supporting Jostin's commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence. This position reports to the Superintendent and provides support throughout all phases of the construction project. The individual in this role must be adaptable and flexible, as responsibilities may vary throughout the workday and may include performing inspections, operating site equipment when authorized, and assisting with general site support activities.

Jostin requires all employees to work collaboratively and professionally with fellow employees, trade partners, vendors, and project stakeholders to support the successful completion of every project.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Temporary Facility Management

  • Service and maintain temporary restroom facilities throughout the jobsite.
  • Inspect temporary facilities a minimum of three times daily (morning, afternoon, and evening).
  • Complete required inspection reports and documentation accurately and timely.
  • Restock restroom and facility supplies as needed.
  • Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper disposal of waste materials.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to supervision.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of temporary facilities and surrounding areas.
  • Transport portable restroom units and supplies using approved equipment and procedures.

Site Inspections and Support

  • Perform scaffold inspections in accordance with company policies and site requirements.
  • Conduct general inspections of tools, equipment, and designated work areas.
  • Identify and report damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, and maintenance concerns.
  • Assist with general housekeeping and maintenance of outdoor work areas.
  • Operate a buck hoist periodically, when trained and authorized.
  • Support project teams with additional labor and site support activities as assigned.

Safety and Compliance

  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements.
  • Wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and required training.
  • Immediately report safety concerns, incidents, near misses, and hazardous conditions.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment that supports project productivity and compliance.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience as a construction laborer, janitor, custodian, housekeeping attendant, or similar position preferred.
  • Experience working on active construction sites is preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to understand and follow basic safety procedures and precautions.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to complete inspection reports and documentation accurately.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable transportation to and from assigned jobsite locations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position is physically demanding and regularly requires the employee to:

  • Walk extensively throughout large construction projects, often several miles per day.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials, supplies, and equipment weighing 50 pounds or more.
  • Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, and work in varying physical positions.
  • Ascend and descend stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and temporary access structures.
  • Operate site equipment such as buck hoists when trained and authorized.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors for extended periods.
