The County of Riverside's Human Resources Temporary Assignment Program seeks Temporary Elections Assistants (TEAs) to support the Registrar of Voters upcoming June 2, 2026, Statewide Direct Primary Election. There are multiple positions available , please see below for more details.

Schedule: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday, including weekends, and holidays with mandatory overtime.

The Temporary Assignment Program (TAP) recruits and hires temporary employees for all County departments. TAP assignments are a great way to learn about working for the County while working on a temporary, at-will basis.

  • DATA ENTRY/PHONES: Primary duties will include registration card entry, vote-by-mail verification, answering phones, and proofing candidate statements and ballot information to ensure translation is correct from English to: Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese Cantonese, Hmong, Japanese, or Thai.
  • Strong customer service skills are required.
  • Strong bilingual skills in reading, writing, proofreading, and speaking are required.
  • Candidates must be proficient in their respective language as well as in English, both spoken and written.
Experience: Customer service experience that involved meeting the public, obtaining and recording factual information, or explaining rules, regulations, policies/procedures, AND must be bilingual in one of the following languages:

  • Korean
  • Vietnamese
  • Chinese Cantonese
  • Hmong
  • Japanese
  • Thai

  • Knowledge: Perform routine clerical work; learn office practices, procedures and equipment; make simple arithmetic calculations; understand and follow written and oral instructions; establish and maintain cooperative relations with the public.

Ability to: Perform general clerical work; Understand and follow both written and oral instructions as well as established policies and procedures; Perform non-sedentary duties; Regularly lift over 25 pounds; Work in a fast-paced environment

License/Certificate: Possession of a valid California Driver's License may be required.Testing Requirement:
Bilingual Proficiency: Candidates whose applications indicate bilingual proficiency in one of the following languages: Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese Cantonese, Hmong, Japanese, or Thai will be required to verify their bilingual skills in a proctored test environment.

Please Note: Appointees will be required to work any shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays with mandatory overtime as needed.
