About our opportunity:
The City of Asheville is seeking qualified applicants for the position of seasonal Parks Maintenance Worker for weekend support in the Parks & Recreation department. Parks Maintenance Workers get the opportunity to spend time outside in the City’s 72 parks and miles of greenway! Work is variable and can include mowing, weedeating, ensuring athletic fields are ready for games, bathroom custodial services, trash collection, etc.
Purpose of Classification:
The purpose of this classification is to perform routine grounds and building maintenance and custodial functions for the Parks and Recreation Department.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
This is a single level classification.
Other things to know:
- Scheduling is incredibly flexible and the Parks and Recreation Department is able to work with candidates to create a schedule that works best for them including opportunities to work early mornings, afternoons, evenings to cover department weekend shifts.
