Job Title: STEALTH Teacher (After-School Program)
Position Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable STEALTH Teacher to lead engaging, hands-on, cross-curricular learning experiences for students in our after-school program. This is NOT a worksheet-based program-students learn through creative, interactive, and project-based activities designed to spark curiosity and critical thinking.
Key Responsibilities
Teach fun, hands-on lessons that integrate multiple subject areas (science, technology, engineering, art, literacy, math, and more).
Plan and prepare engaging activities that encourage problem-solving and collaboration.
Provide academic tutoring daily for 10-15 minutes.
Arrange for substitute teachers when necessary and create clear substitute lesson plans.
Maintain a safe, positive, and supportive classroom environment.
Communicate effectively with program staff, students, and families.
Requirements
Reliable, punctual, and well-prepared for every session.
Passionate about teaching and inspiring students through active, project-based learning.
Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
Ability to adapt and think creatively when planning lessons.
Previous teaching or tutoring experience preferred.
Schedule & Compensation
After-school hours 4:10-5:45
Teacher pay $25, Para pay $17
Qualifications - External
Qualifications:
Depending on program needs, a Physical Capacity Profile (PCP) test may be required. This will be discussed at the time of offer.
Must be available to work the entire duration of program
Must include current building administrator as a reference
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Employee Punctuality and Appearance:
In order for schools to operate effectively, employees are expected to perform all assigned duties and work all scheduled hours during each designated workday, unless the employee has received approved leave
Any deviation from assigned hours must have prior approval from the employee's supervisor or building administrator
All employees are required to report to work dressed in a manner that reflects a positive image of USD 259 and is appropriate for their position
