Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Telemetry Technician to support a high-acuity healthcare environment in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in ECG monitoring, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and dysrhythmia recognition within a hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform continuous ECG monitoring and accurate cardiac rhythm interpretation.
- Identify and respond to life-threatening arrhythmias and rhythm changes.
- Initiate code procedures and document cardiac rhythms during emergencies.
- Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) with correct electrode placement.
- Troubleshoot monitoring equipment and respond to alarms promptly.
- Enter and verify physician orders in the electronic medical record system.
- Retrieve and communicate critical lab results to nursing staff.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation per facility standards.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and care teams.
- Ensure safe and proper operation of telemetry and monitoring equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Telemetry/Monitor Technician experience in a hospital setting
- Current Telemetry Technician Certification (Required)
- Current BLS Certification (AHA or Red Cross)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of a Dysrhythmia Course
- Strong ECG interpretation and arrhythmia recognition skills
- Ability to work every other weekend
