IoT / Telematics Systems Engineer

We have a position for an experienced engineer with hands-on knowledge of telematics software and UDS and/or J1939 communication.

Job Location: Must be able to work on-site in Columbus, Indiana 
What you will be doing:
  • Support 7 step problem solving/ FIRG sessions
  • Custom Calibration development related to connectivity products and features
  • Support field issue resolution and field integration of connectivity modules.
  • Record and analyze generated data including J1939, UDS CAN traces to determine and solve the issues
  • Create and revise ESW (Engineering Standard Work) documents for product connectivity
  • FMEA creation and review for system functions, processes and features.
  • Lead debug sessions with suppliers
  • Work closely with cross functional groups ensure end to end flow and compliance to business processes for product connectivity.
  • Interact with internal and external customers to identify customer requirements
  • Support service, manufacturing and application engineering group.
  • Analyze industry, supplier and customer product connectivity requirements relative to our customer's requirements
  • Perform DCR verification post implementation
  • Submit DCR's to document software issues discovered in the field/ bench tests
  • Prepare presentation material for design reviews.
  • Develop and execute test scripts to test telematics features.
  • Troubleshoot and debug and resolve ECM software and calibration issues.
  • Attending regular team meeting and communicating with peers about project updates.
  • 25% of this role is software development.

What you'll need to be successful:
  • College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines.
  • Two or more years of hands-on experience in the IoT or Telematics software area
  • Fundamental understanding of the internal combustion engines and aftertreatment systems
  • Diagnostic Interfaces and technologies such as UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services) and/or J1939 is required
  • CAN (Controller Area Network) datalinks and network topologies
  • Electronic control modules and related microcontroller architectures
  • Ability to write simple script for troubleshooting and data analysis
  • Embedded C/C++ Software experience is required
