QUALIFICATIONS
RESPONSIBILITIES

Required:

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Active (or recent) U.S. government Secret security clearance preferred but not required.
  • Minimum three years of experience and/or training on the Avaya Definity G3R switching systems and voicemail systems.
  • Ability to program switch and perform MACs to include maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting utilizing switch interface.
  • Ability to work in a campus environment with various levels of controlled access requirements and multiple end user contacts.
  • Proficiency in using Avaya site administration for adds, moves and changes as well as station/trunk related troubleshooting to resolve service tickets campus-wide
  • Provide tier II switch support.
  • Experience working in a central office environment to include O&M of standard peripheral equipment.
  • Assisting the OSP team in traffic detail when work is being performed in manholes

  • Ability to lift and move 30 pounds.

GStek is seeking qualified applicants for a Telecommunications Switch Technician opening.

 

Job Description:

  • Monitor and diagnose switch alarms.
  • Perform translation configurations.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on switch hardware and equipment.
  • Diagnose and replace faulty switch packs and switching equipment.
  • Resolve customer trouble calls related to voice and data issues.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot trunks.
  • Perform adds, moves, and changes.
