Telecommunications Engineer - III

Responsibilities

• Hands-on experience with the design and installation of equipment used in transmitting broadband data over in-building networks.
• Experience with coax, twisted pair copper, or fiber optic cabling and complex networks as well as switching equipment.
• Coordinate the installation of new in-building networks or equipment.
• Evaluate multi-tenant (residential and business) buildings to determine compatibility with different networks and systems.
• Manage large build projects involving broadband services, ensuring timely planning and implementation.
• Produce technical as-built documentation.
• Provide general ad-hoc operational support for local field engineering and sales teams.

Must Have Skills

• General knowledge and experience with the design and installation of in-building network architectures.
• General work area hazard identification and prevention.
• Knowledge and experience with CATV provider termination points (e.g., terminals, pedestals).
• Hands-on experience with testing and troubleshooting coax and Cat6a Ethernet cabling.
• Must possess a vehicle capable of transporting tools and equipment.
• Hands-on experience working off of ladders (step/extension/folding).
• Hands-on experience with drilling in multiple dwelling/commercial buildings.
• Frontline experience with working with customers/clients.

Desired Skills

• Knowledge and experience with Google Suite and other computer and mobility-based applications.
• A four-year college degree or equivalent field experience.
• Experience with working on multiple dwelling/commercial building rooftops (flat and/or pitched).
