Senior Telecommunications BIM Designer
Contract-to-Hire Opportunity
Location: Tempe, AZ
We are seeking a Senior Telecommunications BIM Designer to support complex and innovative telecommunications infrastructure projects for a leading engineering client in Tempe, Arizona. This role offers the opportunity to work on advanced facilities and mission-critical environments, supporting the design and development of fully coordinated BIM models and construction documentation.
The ideal candidate will bring strong Revit BIM modeling experience, telecommunications design knowledge, and the ability to collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines to deliver accurate, coordinated design packages.
Develop and manage Revit BIM models for telecommunications systems in coordination with other discipline BIM leads and design team members.
Produce fully coordinated 3D BIM models and detailed 2D construction drawings across multiple design disciplines (Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Telecom, Instrumentation, and Landscape).
Utilize Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD to create coordinated models and resolve design conflicts through clash detection and model reviews.
Support telecommunications discipline leads by translating design concepts into constructible BIM models and documentation.
Maintain consistency with established client modeling and design standards.
Coordinate with engineers, architects, designers, and other technical professionals to ensure accurate and integrated project deliverables.
Assist with model setup, content development, and documentation throughout the design process.
Review and interpret design markups, redlines, and specifications to update BIM models accordingly.
Estimate hours required for modeling and design efforts based on project requirements and markups.
Utilize Bluebeam or similar markup software to review and track revisions.
High school diploma or equivalent.
8+ years of Revit BIM design experience.
4+ years of experience in telecommunications systems design or construction.
Proficiency with Navisworks for model coordination and clash detection.
Experience with AutoCAD and BIM coordination workflows.
Understanding of design and construction specifications and their role in project delivery.
Knowledge of wiring and cabling systems and how devices and equipment connect within telecommunications networks.
Experience working within client design and modeling standards.
Proficiency with Bluebeam or similar markup software.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to estimate modeling and design hours from markups or verbal direction.
Willingness to learn and adapt in a collaborative design environment.
6+ years of Revit MEP design experience.
Knowledge of Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) standards.
Experience designing systems within semiconductor or advanced manufacturing facilities.
Experience with paging, intercom, and audio-visual systems.
Experience with life safety and security systems, including fire alarm, access control, and CCTV.
Knowledge of control systems, network components, and network topology.
