What We Offer

The Tele-Sitter Monitor Technician provides constant virtual observation of selected patients for the purpose of identifying behaviors which are potentially hazardous to self or others in accordance with facility policies and procedures and reports needs and concerns to the licensed nurse. Works under the supervision of the virtual care leadership and under the direct supervision of the registered nurse to observe patients for harmful and/or dangerous behaviors. Performs other duties as assigned. This position has access to and knowledge of extremely sensitive, private and confidential materials. Ability to maintain the highest standard is required with zero tolerance. All the primary duties within this document will be performed according to established policies, procedures and guidelines within the department and Novant Health.

  • Schedule: 6:45pm - 7:15am, Night Shift, Full-Time (Shift Differential)
  • Department: Tele-Sitter Monitoring
  • Location: NHRMC New Hanover Regional Medical Center

What We're Looking For

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.

  • Experience: Minimum of one year in an acute hospital setting as a Nurse Aide, Psychiatric Tech or other nursing support role such as a Safety Attendant or Care Associate, required.

  • Licensure/Certification: De-escalation class within 90 days of hire, required.

  • Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing as applicable. Maintains acceptable standards set by those guidelines. Must have advanced computer and Windows experience. Must demonstrate appropriate communication skills and sensitivity to patient's needs. Must be able to assess and interpret data about the patient's status and identify behavioral needs to be reported to the nurse.
