Job Summary

The Project Director will oversee and facilitate the development of Competency-Based Education (CBE) degree pathways at El Paso Community College (EPCC). In-person work on campus is an essential function of this position.

Essential Functions

Direct, implement, coordinate, plan, schedule, evaluate, and update all activities necessary for the implementation of CBE courses at EPCC. Ensure a viable work plan is in place for each phase and component of the development of the CBE pathways and ensure the highest quality of course development and implementation possible.

Develop, maintain, and monitor the program's data systems necessary to compile and complete accurate and timely monitoring and evaluation reports consistent with sound management practices, established research principles, and applicable federal program requirements.

Manage the program's accounts, ensuring budgets are consistent with programs, plans, and schedules, including expenditures that are allowable, necessary, reasonable, and fairly allocated to the program. Ensure accounts and budgets comply with applicable regulations, college policies and procedures.

Develop and implement publicity and student recruitment programs consistent with the various program components. Ensure students are eligible and suitable for the program, and adequate records are maintained in full compliance with all institutional, governmental, and security and confidentiality requirements.

Coordinate with deans, faculty, and college administrative and student support staff to fully implement the various components of the program.

Provide personnel management activities for assigned staff, including recommendations for employment, supervision, corrective action, performance evaluation, guidance, and support concerning professional development. Mentor and train staff on policies and procedures. Initiate hiring full-time and part-time staff and schedule their assignments with program faculty.

Work with multiple departments, including Information Technology (IT), discipline coordinators, Registrar, Curriculum Office, Distance Learning Support Services, Accreditation Office, Institutional Research, Veterans Center, Marketing, and Recruitment to ensure clear communication.

Develop and assist in the implementation of sustainability plans based on retention of viable program components and services as supported and recommended by program evaluation reports.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  1. Masters Degree in Instructional Design/ Curriculum Design and five (5) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

NOTE: A copy of the transcript reflecting this required education MUST be submitted for consideration and reflect completed coursework and degrees conferred. The candidate must be fully qualified for the position at the time of application.

Transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a full translation (word for word) by a current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Additionally, each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited coursework.

Out-of-town candidates invited for an on-campus interview will be reimbursed for the transportation cost for travel performed within the United States. The College will arrange and pay for up to two nights lodging.
