Role

Infrastructure Systems Manager

Yavapai County Information Technology Services is seeking a collaborative and forward-thinking Infrastructure Manager to lead our Infrastructure Services Team. This role oversees both the networking and server administration teams and is responsible for driving strategy, planning, security, budgeting, and effective team and vendor management to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable technology services across the organization.

Major Duties, Responsibilities

  • Enforces and monitors compliance with IT policies and procedures.
  • Prepares and monitors budget for the assigned IT business unit.
  • Interfaces with county department customers and determines solutions meeting best practices standards.
  • Participates in budgeting, departmental policy development/maintenance, and quality improvement activities for the organization.
  • Assists senior management in developing strategic goals, standards, protocols, and procedures.
  • Participates in the evaluation of new software, hardware, and systems.
  • Prepares requests for proposals (RFP) and reviews submitted proposals.
  • Supervises assigned staff and manages multiple concurrent work assignments.
  • Directs the work of and manage staff of assigned unit.
  • Participates in interviewing and the selection of new employees.
  • Provides training and instruction and evaluates ongoing training needs.
  • Assigns tasks, reviews work, and prepares employee performance evaluations.
  • Provides input regarding employee transfers, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
  • Serves as the point of contact and subject matter expert for IT system related projects with internal customers and outside vendors, including the coordination of contracted IT consultants.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or closely related field.

Experience:

A minimum of five (5) years of experience in IT management, staff development, organizational budgeting, personnel management, and/or related field(s). An equivalent combination of directly related work experience and education may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-per-year basis.

Additional Requirements:

Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license.

Work Environment:

The work environment is associated with an office or County vehicle. The work area is adequately lighted, heated or cooled and ventilated.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, bend, stoop, kneel, crawl under desks, and walk on uneven ground. Sufficient vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech ability to communicate effectively in person and telephonically. Standing and walking between work areas is frequently required. Capable of frequent repetitive movement of arms, fingers, and wrists. Capable of occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds.
