Plans, coordinates, oversees, and manages technology transfer agreements and research commercialization activities. Assesses the intellectual property and marketing landscapes of new disclosures and actively markets WMU innovations to the private sector. Collaborates with faculty, staff, administrators, and external organizations.
Major Duties
- Provides administrative support for technology transfer and commercialization activities, including managing data use agreements, material transfer agreements, confidential disclosure agreements, and inter-institutional agreements.
- Evaluates market potential of latest ideas and technologies and collaborates to identify potential licenses.
- License, write options and catalyze collaborations with external entities to the University.
- Fosters and facilitates entrepreneurial activities at the University.
- Serves as University liaison with external partners.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
- Five years' relevant experience.
- Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple tasks and work successfully with academic scholars, entrepreneurs, faculty, and staff.
- Ability to negotiate with the private sector.
- Ability to exercise sound professional judgment and decision-making and work with minimal supervision.

Additional Position Information
- This is a terminal appointment which will end two years from the date of hire. Renewal is contingent on funding.

Physical requirements and working conditions
