Tri-County Computer Services Association (TCCSA) has an immediate opening for a Technical Support Specialist.
This person will be responsible for first-level technical support at Ashland Middle School, Edison Elementary School, and Reagan Elementary School in Ashland, Ohio.
Primary responsibilities include hardware repairs, technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of all technology systems found in the school setting. Refer to the attached job description.
Position details:
- 260 days per year, 8 hours per day (7:30 AM to 4:00 PM with ½ hour unpaid lunch)
- Paid time off: 15 vacation days, 3 personal days, 15 sick days, 11 holidays per year
- Starting salary range: $40,000-50,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
- Membership in School Employees Retirement System. Employee contributes 10% of total compensation as a payroll deduction. Employer contributes the remainder.
- Medical, dental, and life insurance available. 85% employer paid.
An Associates' Degree or 2 years of experience in an Information Technology position are preferred.
Students currently taking college classes in an IT related field are also encouraged to apply. We will consider a part time arrangement that allows you to continue your college classes. You must be available to work at least 32 hours per week.

The focus of this position is to provide first-level technical support in the Ashland City Schools. You will work with a wide variety of equipment, including Windows computers, Chromebooks, projectors, printers, video displays, networking equipment, audio/visual systems, video surveillance equipment, telephones, and iPads. Responsibilities will include both hardware repairs and user support.
Additionally, this person will be responsible for maintaining some systems throughout the school district.
This is an in-person position. Primary responsibilities:
- Provide first-level technical support at Ashland Middle School, Edison Elementary School, and Reagan Elementary School.
- Review and prioritize new technical support tickets as they arrive.
- Perform hardware repairs and maintenance.
- Issue Chromebooks to students and collect them when students leave.
- Provide technical support for events, including use of audio and video systems.
- Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning equipment and installing software updates.
- Reconnect equipment after summer cleaning; make sure classroom technology is in working order before school starts.
- Provide support for surveillance camera systems, including monitoring for issues and maintaining equipment.
Other duties:
- Install software and apps.
- Issue devices to employees, and collect devices when a person's employment ends.
- Update names and voicemail records within the telephone systems.
- Assist with technical support at other Ashland City Schools buildings occasionally.
- Unpack and install new equipment.
- Maintain inventory records and documentation.
- Assign tasks to high school students who assist with technology repairs.
- Other duties as assigned by the Technology Director, Superintendent, or designee. Required skills:
- Knowledge of the following platforms: Microsoft Windows 11, Google Chrome OS, Apple iOS.
- Ability to take apart technology devices, replace components, and reassemble them.
- Basic knowledge of video and audio systems including HDMI, projectors, microphones, speakers.
- Diagnose problems accurately and devise solutions.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
