Position Title: Technology Director

Employment Type: Full-Time, 12-Month

Location: Tri-Central School Corporation, Sharpsville, Indiana

Salary Range: commensurate with experience

Position Overview

The Tri-Central School Corporation is seeking a collaborative and skilled Technology Director to lead our districts digital infrastructure and facility security systems. Serving 700 students across one school building and a central office, this role provides strategic leadership while remaining actively involved in daily technical operations. Leading a team of two-the Director and one Assistant Technology specialist-you will manage our network, oversee cyber security, and maintain the campus physical security hardware that keeps our small rural community safe.

Key Responsibilities

Network, Systems & Operations Management

  • Manage, maintain, and secure the single-campus local network (LAN), Wi-Fi infrastructure, and firewalls.
  • Monitor network uptime and optimize connectivity between the school building and the central office.
  • Oversee data privacy, cloud backups, and ensure compliance with Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) cybersecurity standards and work with administration to oversee Skyward Student Informational system.

Physical Security & Infrastructure Systems

  • Administer, troubleshoot, and maintain the districts IP security camera network and video storage servers.
  • Manage the campus electronic keyless door entry system, including user access profiles, scheduling, and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement or school resource officers to ensure systems operate at peak performance during emergencies.

Department Leadership & Administration

  • Lead, mentor, and coordinate daily helpdesk tasks for the Assistant Technology specialist.
  • Work with the central office to procure annual Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) E-rate funding process to secure critical internet and infrastructure discounts.

Device & Mobile Device Management (MDM)

  • Oversee a 1:1 Student device ecosystem consisting of Macbooks and iPads.
  • Configure and Maintain Mobile-Device Management (MDM) platforms to push applications, monitor security settings, and manage content filtering

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 3-5 years in network administration, system engineering, or educational IT leadership preferred.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Practical experience managing networked facility systems (IP cameras, access control doors, or environmental sensors). Specific working knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Azure and O365 environments, in-depth working knowledge of Windows and Mac OS systems. Knowledge of Windows servers and networking is a must.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage, support, and direct a technician or small IT team.
  • Licensing & Safety: Must pass an expanded criminal history background check required for all Indiana public school employees.

  • Communication: Ability to explain complex technical roadmaps clearly to teachers, administrators, and the school board.
