TITLE: TECHNOLOGY COORDINATOR

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in related fields required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in technology-related positions.
  • Proficiency working with the installation and maintenance of computer systems and various software applications on both Apple and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience in using a network to store, retrieve, and disseminate files to end-users, software implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
  • Current residency in New Jersey, approved residency waiver or candidate agrees to obtain residency within one year of employment.

REPORTS TO: School Business Administrator/Board Secretary

JOB GOAL: To bridge the gap between end-users and technical infrastructure. To ensure seamless daily operations, optimize IT protocols, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and drive technology initiatives to boost overall productivity and support strategic goals.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees and manages the school district's information technology systems, administrative computer networks, and activities, including the development, implementation, and administration of the district's short and long-range technology plan.
  • Provides leadership and technical support for the purpose of designing, developing, and maintaining an efficient, unified, and fully integrated technology system.
  • Leads team in troubleshooting and problem solving to diagnose problems with the district's network systems, hardware, software, and develops plans for corrective action, as needed.
  • Budgetary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordinating, monitoring, and preparing a district-wide technology budget, oversee technology related purchases, deployment, maintenance, replacement, and use of equipment, as well as coordinate and oversee all large-scale technology-related improvements and projects, both short-term and long-term.
  • Identify and manage funding opportunities and sources, including E-Rate, grants, and other state/national funds to improve infrastructure.
  • Recommends policies and regulations for the purpose of providing direction for the school district's IT function, and ensures the policies are adhered to, as required.
  • Designs appropriate technical training materials or workshops for the purpose of training school district employees in the use of computer applications.
  • Works collaboratively with the Technician I provided by the Bergen County Technical Schools (BCTS), as well as coordinating technology support services with BCTS.
  • Oversees the purchase, implementation, and maintenance of all hardware and software in the district, including supervising the removal of all obsolete technology equipment, and maintains up-to-date inventory of all equipment.
  • Researches computer hardware and software applications, vendors, consultants, and current technology for the purpose of recommending applications and purchases.
  • Participates in local and state technology-related organizations, workshops, and conferences.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Business Administrator and Superintendent.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary commensurate with experience.
