JOB DESCRIPTION

Performs a variety of complex information technology support duties to ensure smooth delivery of technology services for Saline Area Schools. Monitors, operates, and assists others in the operation of computer hardware, software, and diagnostic tools to perform a broad range of customer assistance, equipment maintenance & repair, and computer operations assignments. Works with minimal supervision, exercises judgment and creativity in selecting and applying technology procedures correctly, and determines when to refer troubleshooting to the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education/Certification

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Documented training in computer hardware and/or software (Cisco, Microsoft, Apple, etc.)

Preferred Education/Certification

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Related college or technical school coursework

Required Experience

  • Significant successful related experience in computer and network installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair
  • Extensive knowledge of computer hardware and software installation procedures.
  • Understanding of current operating platforms, computer hardware, and associated peripherals, and software applications

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Communicate with users (students and staff) to determine the nature of an end-user technology program (help desk)
  • Prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and follow through on tasks through completion
  • Work collaboratively with IT, building, and district-level staff, and maintain effective working relationships at the building and district level
  • Coordinate online testing
  • Install and maintain computer operating systems, application software, and related computer equipment
  • Inspect computer equipment requiring specialized computer repair and troubleshooting for the purpose of identifying and verifying repair needs
  • Train individuals to ensure their ability to use computer systems and new or existing software
  • Coordinate computer and end-user repair requests
  • Assist in record-keeping regarding the functioning and inventory of the school district's computers and related equipment, repairs, etc.
  • May require occasional nights and weekends to complete maintenance

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS, WORK HAZARDS

Work in standard office and school building environments requiring mobility, visual and auditory acuity, communication skills, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, problem-solving skills, adaptability, technology proficiency, physical stamina, and environmental awareness.

EQUIPMENT

Candidates must have experience with computers (PC & Mac), mobile devices (iOS & Chrome OS), or the desire and aptitude to learn technology.

TRAVEL

Limited travel between district buildings may be required.

  • 12-month Unaffiliated employee
  • Saline Area Schools employee and is eligible for full benefits

SALARY

Starting at $48,334.00 per year
