Our client, a Aerospace And Defense company, is looking for a Technician for their Orlando, FL location.
 
Responsibilities:

  • The position is a hands-on aerospace-engineering hardware-focused test technician located within the E&T Labs department.
  • The overall primary job responsibility is the fabrication and evaluation of aerospace-grade materials, prototype parts and assemblies, and production parts and assemblies in support of internal customers for research and development projects and contracted programs.
  • Requested tasks are verified and evaluated with the test requester and scheduled in an environment where there are often competing and conflicting needs to be resolved.
  • When necessary to conduct the request, new testing methods are evaluated and standard processes developed.
  • The test results are reported, reviewed as required with the supervisor or manager, and then communicated to the customer.
 
Requirements:
  • 5 years experience executing materials tests to ASTM standards and specifications. Examples of such tests are hardness, tack-free time, viscosity. Well versed in reading, understanding, and executing to ASTM standards.
  • 5 years experience with fabrication and assembly techniques such as bonding, sanding, drilling, material surface preparation.
  • 5 years experience mixing, weighing, and handling chemicals.
  • 5 years experience interpreting engineering drawings
  • Proficient (5+ years experience) in computing within a Windowsbased MS Officesuite centered environment for communication, scheduling, data processing, and basic data transfer.
  • Familiar with composites manufacturing and layup techniques.
  • Demonstrated sound writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Meticulous, detailoriented approach to problem solving
  • Ability and desire to learn new skills and execute those to the best of their ability.
  • Capable of scheduling, deconflicting, and executing multiple technical activities concurrently.
  • A degree is NOT required for this position.
