Position Overview

The HVAC Technician will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC systems and associated electrical systems within GRDA office buildings. The technician ensures that climate control systems meet operational, safety, and regulatory standards.

Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Install and repair HVAC equipment and associated controls in GRDA offices.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical power systems related to HVAC units.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations regarding tools, equipment, and handling of refrigerant gases.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures when performing all tasks to minimize risk and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Perform tasks at various heights, utilizing proper safety equipment and techniques.
  • Perform other assigned duties as required.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualities:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Knowledge of asset management software for logging equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to manage email communications and complete online training modules.
  • Ability to methodically analyze and resolve complex electrical and HVAC issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Education, Training, Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certification in HVAC or electrical maintenance from a recognized trade, technical pr vocational school preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience performing skilled HVAC/electrical maintenance.

Certificates, Registrations, Licenses:

  • Valid Oklahoma driver’s license, or the ability to convert within 30 days for those with an out of state driver’s license that are an Oklahoma resident.
  • HVAC Journeyman license preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to walk, climb stairs, crawl, work from ladders and elevated platforms.
  • Ability to lift, move and carry weights of up to 50 lb. on a regular basis.
  • Must possess mental, visual, and auditory acuity for attention to visual and auditory detail.
  • Must follow all EPA regulations for the handling, storage, and transportation of HVAC gases.
  • Must maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Work environment ranges from an office environment to outdoors and/or indoors in high noise/high temperature environment.

  • Position is located at the Engineering and Technology Center in Tulsa, OK
