Major/Essential Functions

  • Operates & services all types of grounds maintenance equipment related to the irrigations systems.
  • Install and service irrigation controllers throughout campus. This is an essential personnel position. You will need to be available for an call duty for emergency maintenance or to assist in  campus preparation due to inclement weather or hazardous weather conditions.
  • Observe entire grounds and identify and document all problems and/or hazards.
  • Maintains all aspects of the grounds irrigation systems, including pumps, wells, backflow prevention devices, valves, controllers, etc.
  • Directs & trains employees on the proper use of tools, supplies & equipment as related to grounds maintenance for irrigations purposes.
  • Design and implement new landscape irrigation systems for upcoming projects.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of irrigation.

Required Qualifications

High school or equivalent and three years work experience. Additional job related education may substitute for required experience on a year for year basis. Possess an Irrigation Technician License within one year of hire date.

This position requires eligibility to drive TTU vehicles, including a valid U.S. driver license and two years of driving experience.
