Position Summary
The Sublimate Technologies Dry Ice Cleaning Technician Level II is an experienced, independent field technician responsible for executing CO dry ice blasting projects with minimal supervision. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, disciplined adherence to standardized operating procedures, and the ability to deliver consistent, high-quality results across industrial, commercial, and automotive environments.

Technicians at this level are expected to independently manage job execution within defined scopes of work, perform pre- and post-job inspections, operate and maintain specialized equipment, and interface professionally with customers on-site. The Technician II is accountable for technical execution, safety compliance, job documentation, and overall quality of work.

This position requires regular work at customer premises as well as work performed at company facilities for equipment preparation, maintenance, staging, and post-job breakdown. This is not a remote role. The Technician II must be capable of safely operating company vehicles, including pickup trucks and box trucks, and towing air compressors and equipment trailers in compliance with company policies and applicable transportation regulations.

This is a customer-facing position. Professional conduct, clear communication, and respect for client facilities are mandatory. The Technician II represents Sublimate Technologies in the field and serves as a developmental pipeline toward Lead Technician responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Dry Ice Blasting Operations

  • Independently set up, operate, and break down CO dry ice blasting equipment in accordance with established SOPs.
  • Execute cleaning work across automotive, industrial, manufacturing, facilities, and commercial environments per defined job scope.
  • Select appropriate blasting pressures, media flow rates, and nozzle configurations based on substrate and application.
  • Ensure containment, protection of surrounding assets, and job site cleanliness throughout operations

Job Execution & Quality Control

  • Conduct pre-job inspections, document existing conditions, and confirm scope alignment prior to starting work.
  • Perform post-job quality verification to ensure cleaning objectives are met without damage to substrates or equipment.
  • Identify deviations from scope, site constraints, or abnormal conditions and escalate appropriately.
  • Complete all job documentation accurately, including photos, notes, and required forms in the work management system.

Equipment, Vehicles & Technical Support

  • Safely operate CO blasting units, compressors, air systems, hoses, and related accessories.
  • Safely operate company vehicles including pickup trucks and box trucks.
  • Safely tow air compressors, equipment trailers, and related support equipment as required for job execution.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of equipment and remove unsafe equipment from service when necessary.
  • Maintain tools, vehicles, trailers, and equipment in clean, service-ready condition.
  • Assist with equipment loading, unloading, securing, and transport.

Safety & Compliance

  • Strictly follow all safety protocols, SOPs, and PPE requirements related to CO handling, compressed air systems, noise exposure, and industrial environments.
  • Comply with all applicable transportation, vehicle-use, and towing regulations.
  • Participate in required safety training, driver qualification reviews, and equipment compliance checks as assigned.

Customer Interaction & Professional Conduct

  • Interface professionally with customers, facility staff, and other contractors on-site.
  • Communicate job progress, access needs, and completion status clearly and respectfully.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area that reflects professional standards at all times.
  • Represent Sublimate Technologies with professionalism, discretion, and integrity.

Other Responsibilities

  1. Support training and mentoring of Technician I staff when assigned.
  2. Assist with special projects, equipment testing, facility work, or process improvements as directed.
  3. Perform all other duties consistent with the scope and intent of this role as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Proven hands-on mechanical, technical, or industrial experience.
  • Ability to work independently and manage assigned job tasks without constant supervision.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to safely operate pickup trucks and box trucks and tow equipment trailers and compressors (training provided as needed).
  • Ability to meet company driver qualification and vehicle-use requirements.

Preferred Experience & Certifications

  • Automotive detailing, restoration, mechanical, or fabrication experience.
  • Industrial maintenance, facilities, or manufacturing environment background.
  • OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Certification.
  • Lockout/Tagout awareness or training.
  • Confined Space Awareness (training provided if not already certified).

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed both at customer premises and at company facilities, including industrial sites, manufacturing plants, automotive shops, commercial buildings, and equipment staging or maintenance areas. This role is not remote.
  • Conditions may include noise, dust, temperature variation, and the use of PPE.
  • Work schedules may include early mornings, evenings, or occasional weekends based on operational and customer requirements.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  •  This role requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and working on feet for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely operate hand and power tools, industrial cleaning equipment, vehicles, and trailers is required.
