Major/Essential Functions
- Set up the lab for microbiology classes in the Biological Sciences Department.
- Prepare media required for the classes of microbiology.
- Prepare items for lab practice such as kits, handouts, and other instructional materials.
- Sterilize and discharge used media from the classes of microbiology.
- Monitor quantity and condition of existing models and supplies and help provide routine maintenance.
- Maintain the laboratories and storage cabinets in a clean and organized manner,.
- Cross-train teaching assistants and undergraduate lab assistants on media preparation techniques.
- Assist in managing inventory for supplies used in microbiology classes.
- Routinely lift 30 pounds or less independently.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Experience in chemistry, microbiology, and or human medical fields.
- Experience and or certification with safety procedures, personal protective equipment, and inspection protocols.
