Purpose of Position

FlightSafety International, the global leader in aviation training and simulation, is seeking a Field Service Technician with strong electromechanical skills. This role supports the installation, integration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of advanced flight simulator visual and display systems at customer sites worldwide.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Interpret block diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, mechanical layouts, and customer/regulatory specifications.
• Use electronic and electromechanical test equipment to diagnose system issues, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Install, align, calibrate, and integrate electromechanical hardware, including motion systems, actuators, cabling, and mechanical interfaces.
• Document and track issues, coordinating resolutions with engineering, customer service, production, and quality teams.
• Develop and execute detailed electrical and electromechanical test procedures.
• Communicate effectively through written and verbal updates, reports, and technical summaries.
• Serve as a technical liaison between the customer and the company.
• Demonstrate professionalism and support a cooperative team environment.
• Maintain control of export-restricted materials and ensure security of proprietary information.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with specifications.
• Maintain reliable attendance and safe work practices.
• Position requires heavy travel.

Minimum Education and Experience

Associate degree in Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or related field; or equivalent experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Hands‑on experience installing and troubleshooting electromechanical or high‑tech systems
• Preferred certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, Microsoft, UNIX familiarity
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude; ability to solve technical problems with minimal standardization
• Excellent communication skills and customer‑service mindset



Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and sit. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
