Summary:
Shift/Schedule: 5X8 M-F, 8AM-4:30PM
Responsibilities:
- Collect, segregate, and manage hazardous chemical wastes generated throughout the company, including clinics and research laboratories.
- Manage hazardous pharmaceutical wastes, radiological, and universal wastes.
- Perform work in accordance with all appropriate Federal, State, and local regulations and standards by OSHA, EPA, DOT, NRC, RCRA.
- Communicate with supervisor regarding the policies and procedures for assuring compliance.
- Lift 50 lbs., manipulate 400 lb. drums, and be physically able to wear respiratory protection.
- Work in environments ranging from usual office conditions to environments requiring protective clothing and equipment.
Requirements:
- Must be able to operate company-owned vehicle. Valid Driver's license required.
- 1-3 years of experience, primarily seeking candidates who are newly certified and starting their career.
- DOT RCRA certified.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to hazardous material management.
- Basic knowledge of chemistry and related sciences.
- Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, and generate reports.
- Functional oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Associates Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, or related field (Highly preferred).
