Job Description


This position is responsible for project and communications support to the Director of Marketing and Communications and the team at Kuna Engineering. The position is expected to have significant and advanced level skills in technical writing/editing, Microsoft Excel/project controls, systems development, and advanced level skills in the development of reports and preparation of correspondence, proposals, and bids.


Responsibilities


+ Edit and rewrite reports, memos, presentations, letters, and related engineering or other technical documents to ensure that writing is concise, clear, grammatically correct, appropriately formatted, and ready for publication.

+ Use of various software to produce technical reports and related material.

+ Work with Kuna team on an individual basis to provide training in technical writing, marketing, and communication practices.

+ Provide advanced level support in the preparation of project reporting, documentation, invoicing, and other project management support.

+ Maintain records and prepare administrative documents.

+ Assist in the preparation, documentation, and execution of bids and proposals.

+ This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

+ Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.


Qualifications


+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

+ Minimum fifteen (15) years of similar experience in project management support, technical writing, and project controls.

+ Advanced technical writing skills and the ability to provided examples of technical writing and marketing/communication samples.

+ Advanced skillset in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

+ Advanced skillset in Adobe InDesign.

+ Candidate must possess a valid Alaska State Driver’s License and acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under vehicle insurance policy.

+ Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.


Working Conditions and Physical Requirements


Weather: Indoors - environmentally controlled; requires most or all work to be done inside.


Noise level: The noise level in the work environment is usually that of a standard office atmosphere.


Description of environment: Office building with standard office environment.


Physical requirements: Employee is required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.


Travel: Employee may travel to remote areas and may be required to use alternative modes of transportation, including but not limited to snow machines, boats, small airplanes and ATVs.
