MANTECH seeks a motivated career and customer-oriented Technical Writer II to join our team in Crane, Indiana. This is an onsite position.
As a core member, you will assist in the research & design engineering integration testing training logistics laboratory research field engineering and acquisition and operations analysis in support of a variety of Navy and Marine Corps programs and projects with a focus on defensive cyber technologies mission assurance and resilience capabilities for the tactical network environment. Your effort will go towards dramatically increasing the warfighters effectiveness. Responsibilities
- Assist in collecting and organizing information for preparation of user manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports.
- Edit functional descriptions, system specifications, user manuals, special reports, or any other customer deliverables and documents.
- Translate technical information into clear and concise documentation that is easily understandable by end-users.
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and quality of all technical documentation produced.
- Organize and structure information effectively to facilitate easy navigation and retrieval of documentation.
- Review and edit existing documentation to improve clarity, accuracy, and readability.
- Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices in technical writing and make recommendations for process improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or High School Diploma and 6 years of additional relevant experience or
- Associates Degree and 4 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of Bachelors degree.
- 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the particular field.
- Proficiency in using documentation tools and software such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and content management systems.
- Experience in writing documentation and procedure manuals for various audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters Degree or PHD.
- Experience in working with engineers to improve user experience, ex design UI refine content, and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Firm understanding of SDLC systems development lifecycle.
Clearance Requirements
- Must have a current and active Secret clearance.
Physical Requirements
- The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers via email, phone, and/or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
