Akkodis is seeking a Technical Writer - Calibration Systems for a Contract to Hire with a client in Fairport, NY (Hybrid). The ideal candidate will create clear, standardized technical documentation for calibration and end‑of‑line test systems to support manufacturing, training, and replication.
Rate Range: $55/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Technical Writer - Calibration Systems Job Responsibilities include:
Develop detailed technical documentation for calibration stands and end‑unit testing systems, including processes, workflows, and system functionality.
Translate complex engineering inputs into clear, structured, and user‑friendly documentation.
Create step‑by‑step operating guides, end‑of‑line testing procedures, and training reference materials.
Document bills of materials (BOMs), component relationships, and equipment configurations.
Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and production teams to gather, validate, and standardize information.
Organize and maintain documentation to support scalability, duplication of test cells, and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Technical Communication, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
5+ years of experience in technical documentation or technical writing within manufacturing or engineering environments.
Proven experience documenting test systems, calibration equipment, BOMs, and end‑of‑line manufacturing processes.
Strong ability to translate complex technical and engineering inputs into clear, standardized, user‑friendly documentation and visuals.

Pay Details: $55.00 to $60.00 per hour
