Position Overview

OSS, a division of Arcfield, is seeking a Technical Systems Engineer to support the development, integration, and sustainment of space vehicle (satellite) systems and remote sensing payloads for advanced space-based missions.

This role supports a next-generation effort focused on distributed satellite constellations and environmental sensing systems, enabling high-resolution, global data capabilities. The selected candidate will contribute across the full system lifecycle, ensuring technical alignment between spacecraft subsystems, payloads, ground systems, and data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform systems engineering activities across the full lifecycle (concept, design, integration, test, launch, and operations) for space vehicle systems
  • Develop, decompose, and manage system, subsystem, and interface requirements, ensuring traceability and alignment with mission objectives
  • Complete understanding and demonstration of the full system verification and validation
  • Support spacecraft architecture development and trade studies, including mass, power, thermal, communications, and performance analyses
  • Support system integration across spacecraft subsystems, including:
    • Attitude Determination & Control System (ADCS)
    • Electrical Power System (EPS)
    • Command & Data Handling (C&DH)
    • Thermal Control System (TCS)
    • Communications systems (RF, TT&C)
    • Propulsion systems (as applicable)
  • Develop and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and technical baselines
  • Support payload integration, including electro-optical sensing systems
  • Participate in formal design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and technical assessments
  • Support Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT) activities, including functional and environmental testing (e.g., thermal vacuum, vibration, EMI/EMC)
  • Identify and manage technical risks, issues, and dependencies across integrated systems
