Your expertise in rotating electrical systems will help diagnose root causes, close the loop on customer concerns, and strengthen the reliability of alternators, starters, wiper motors, and related components. You’ll balance rigorous lab work with direct customer interaction, ensuring that solutions are both technically sound and customer-centric.

Problems you’ll help solve

  • Accelerate resolution of Quality Response System (QRS) cases through precise inspections, testing, and documentation.
  • Reveal failure modes using structured reliability testing and component-level diagnostics.
  • Improve supplier quality by validating samples to OE and WAI specifications.
  • Maintain the accuracy of your lab by calibrating and repairing test equipment.
  • Support customers by phone with technical guidance, cross-references, and product lookups.
  • Build trust as the voice of the customer, turning insights into actionable improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Product Management, and the Director of Quality to address product-quality issues end to end.
  • Track issues through closure and document learnings that inform continuous improvement.
  • Provide interdepartmental technical support and assist with other non-Quality tasks as assigned.
  • Uphold and help enforce Quality Department policies while sustaining high productivity, efficiency, and quality.
  • Travel when needed for training or to support field quality activities.

  • Customers receive clear, timely, and accurate technical support.
  • Warranty claims are evaluated with robust, data-driven conclusions.
  • Test equipment is calibrated and reliable; measurement integrity is never in doubt.
  • Supplier validations protect conformance to OE and WAI requirements.

Your toolkit

  • Education: College diploma with 2+ years of related industry experience—or high school diploma with 5+ years of related experience.
  • Experience: 2–5 years in the automotive industry.
  • Technical capabilities: Strong DC vehicle electrical knowledge; deep familiarity with alternators and starters and their failure modes; understanding of automotive electronics; mechanically inclined; comfortable with hand tools and diverse measuring/testing equipment.
  • Certification: ASE certification is an asset.
  • Digital skills: Windows environment; proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Core strengths: Ability to follow instructions and management direction; skilled with mechanical tools and metrology.
  • Communication: Clear written and verbal communication; prior phone or customer service experience preferred; confident presenting in reports, slide decks, and small-group or one-on-one settings.
  • Personal traits: Efficient with time, steady under pressure, safety/security minded, and dedicated to customer satisfaction.
  • Proficiencies: Mechanical testing; familiarity with ASE Automobile and Light Truck Certification tests.
