Summary
The Solutions Specialist coordinates various departments and external contacts to provide cost-effective custom weighing solutions that meet or exceed customers' expectations. This position will help maximize the market share and profitability of the Fairbanks Scales product lines.
Essential Job Duties
- Estimates project costs, consults, and provides timely and effective communication during a project with multiple internal groups at all levels of the organization including sales and engineering on technical matters, ensuring the feasibility of proposed solutions.
- Participates in needs analysis and information gathering meetings with Sales, Service, Distribution, and customers as required to help define the best customer solution.
- Supports all industrial and other products that are designed, built, shipped, or sold out of the company's manufacturing facilities.
- Provides outside vendors and contractors pricing on modifications to existing products and products not carried in our system.
- Evaluates existing systems to determine effectiveness and suggests changes to meet customer requirements.
- Works with engineers and other departments to resolve problems that arise during and after product implementation.
- Produces reports and analyzes data to track product trends, profitability, and close rates of special products.
- Participates, develops and may conduct user training.
- Completes required training as assigned.
- Organize travel, transportation, meals, and expenses for technician Instructor Led Training classes at the corporate office.
- Follow progress of engineering teams on solution designs to maintain consistent and reasonable lead times.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications - Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.)
- Associate's degree in business or a related technical field or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience in scale, process control equipment or software support is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products - specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience in costing industrial equipment, sales or custom products is preferred.

- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.

- Physical demands are medium, consisting of using various Fairbanks Scales scale products, office equipment and computers.

- Must be able to have repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement to type and work on computer.
- Must have finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination to work on computer, telephone, calculator, and related office equipment.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
