About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and driven Technical Project Manager (TPM) to join our engineering team in Fountain Valley, CA. In this role, you will bridge the gap between business requirements and technical execution.

You aren't just tracking deadlines you understand the architecture. While you won't be expected to write production code daily, your solid Java knowledge will allow you to participate in code reviews, understand system dependencies, and earn the respect of our backend engineering team from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Delivery: Lead end-to-end delivery of complex, concurrent software development projects using Agile/Scrum methodologies.

  • Technical Liaison: Translate high-level business requirements into detailed technical specifications and user stories for Java-based backend teams.

  • Sprint Management: Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.

  • Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify bottlenecks, manage technical dependencies, and resolve blockers to keep development on track.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Provide clear, data-driven updates on project health, timelines, and resource allocation to executive leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager or Scrum Master in a software engineering environment.

  • Technical Baseline: Solid conceptual understanding of the Java/JEE ecosystem (Spring Boot, Hibernate, MVC architecture, RESTful APIs, and microservices).

  • Agile Expertise: Proven track record managing sprints utilizing Jira, Confluence, or similar project management tools.

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
