Global Financial Firm located in IRVING, TX has an immediate contract opportunity for an experienced Project Manager

Summary:

  • Location: Irving, TX
  • Work Mode: Hybrid

Responsibilities:

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, budgets, and risk management strategies.
  • Lead the day-to-day execution of project tasks, ensuring that project teams are on track to meet milestones.
  • Lead and motivate cross-functional teams of engineers, developers, and other technical staff.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications, effectively managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Facilitate project meetings, including kick-offs, daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Translate technical concepts and project status into clear, concise updates for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of the project's technical architecture, challenges, and dependencies.
  • Work with technical leads to identify and resolve technical roadblocks and challenges.
  • Proactively identify, track, and mitigate project risks and issues, developing contingency plans as needed.
  • Ensure that the final deliverables meet the required quality standards and technical specifications.
  • Track project performance using appropriate tools and techniques, providing regular reports on scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of direct experience in technical project management, managing software development or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and various project management methodologies, including Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and Waterfall.
  • Proven experience managing projects from conception to completion, including managing scope, schedule, budget, and risk.
  • Proficiency with project management software, such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or other relevant project management certifications.
  • Experience managing projects in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Hands-on experience in a software development or engineering role prior to moving into project management.
  • Experience in the financial services or banking industry.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively.
