Location: Sunnyvale, CA or Redmond, WA (Onsite 3 days/week)
Pay Rate: $70/hr on W2
Duration: 12 Months

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to lead complex software programs supporting next-generation of augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and wearable technologies that redefine how people connect with the world. 
This role is responsible for driving cross-functional execution from concept through production, ensuring software quality, system health, and successful product launches across multiple hardware programs.

The ideal candidate has a strong background managing software development for consumer devices, excels at coordinating cross-functional engineering teams, and is experienced in navigating technical dependencies, risks, and aggressive launch timelines.

What You'll Do

  • Lead end-to-end execution of complex software programs supporting consumer wearable devices from concept through production.
  • Develop and manage detailed program execution plans, milestones, schedules, dependencies, and launch readiness activities.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across software, hardware, firmware, systems engineering, product management, and operations teams.
  • Lead program reviews focused on software stability, system health, crash triage, release quality, and launch metrics.
  • Monitor dashboards, analyze technical metrics, and coordinate engineering efforts to resolve critical product issues.
  • Own risk identification, mitigation planning, escalation management, and executive-level program communications.
  • Ensure software releases meet quality gates, stability requirements, and key performance indicators before launch.
  • Drive continuous improvements to engineering processes, triage workflows, documentation, and operational excellence.
  • Partner with senior engineering leadership to define long-term technical roadmaps and execution strategies.
  • Manage multiple concurrent programs with complex cross-functional dependencies while maintaining schedule, quality, and scope.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or another related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager supporting software development for consumer hardware or consumer device products from inception through production.
  • Experience driving software launches for complex hardware products with multiple engineering dependencies.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), product development processes, and release management.
  • Experience owning launch metrics, software stability initiatives, and engineering execution.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex technical programs simultaneously.
  • Experience identifying technical risks, driving mitigation plans, and communicating program status to engineering leadership.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience building execution plans, managing schedules, tracking milestones, and driving accountability across engineering organizations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions in fast-paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting battery life optimization, power performance, silicon, firmware, or embedded software programs.
  • Experience working on wearable devices, AR/VR, mobile devices, or consumer electronics.
  • Experience within a large technology company supporting large-scale engineering organizations.
  • PMP or PMI Certification.
  • MBA or other advanced technical degree.
  • Experience using engineering dashboards and software quality metrics to drive release readiness.
  • Experience improving engineering processes, launch operations, or software quality workflows.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has successfully led software programs for consumer hardware products and is comfortable operating across multiple engineering disciplines. They bring strong technical program management experience, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to influence without authority while driving execution across highly matrixed teams. Experience delivering wearable, mobile, or embedded software products from development through launch is highly valued.
