Overview

Microsoft Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind the cloud. CO+I designs, builds, acquires, operates, and maintains Microsofts datacenters, which houses the worlds largest Commercial Cloud globally. Over 90% of Fortune 500 companies are hosted in our datacenters. We are integral to Microsofts vision of empowering every person and organization on the planet to achieve more. CO+I is responsible for delivering over 200 Microsoft web portals, Live and Online Services around the world including infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability. Responsibilities

  • Lead complex analyses to evaluate supply, capacity, financial, and operational tradeoffs across Microsofts global data center portfolio.

  • Develop decision frameworks and recommendations for senior leadership on multi-billion-dollar investment decisions, capacity allocation strategies, and supply planning priorities.

  • Partner with senior executives to assess strategic opportunities, risks, and emerging business scenarios.

  • Structure ambiguous problems into clear options, recommendations, and executive-ready decision packages.

  • Build rigorous business cases supporting capital investments, capacity expansion plans, strategic initiatives, and operational improvements.

  • Quantify financial impact, ROI, risk exposure, capacity outcomes, and customer implications associated with proposed decisions.

  • Create sensitivity analyses and decision models that assess alternative paths and investment scenarios.

  • Develop content for executive reviews, strategy sessions, operating reviews, and decision forums.

  • Clearly communicate tradeoffs, risks, assumptions, recommendations, and required decisions.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management/ data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management/ data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience

  • 8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects

  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos)

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
