Technical Product Manager – SCADA (Grid / Energy Systems)

We are seeking a Technical Product Manager (SCADA) to lead product strategy and development for a next-generation platform supporting power systems automation, renewable energy integration, and grid operations.
This is a highly technical role focused on bridging engineering, architecture, and customer needs within modern energy infrastructure environments.
Position Overview
The Technical Product Manager will own the product roadmap and requirements for a SCADA platform used by utilities, renewable developers, and grid operators. This role drives innovation across real-time monitoring, control systems integration, and grid modernization initiatives.
You will work cross-functionally with engineering, architecture, and solutions teams to ensure the platform evolves to meet the demands of a rapidly changing energy landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap
• Define and manage the SCADA product roadmap
• Identify capabilities supporting grid modernization and renewable integration
• Align product strategy with broader digital grid platform architecture
• Prioritize roadmap initiatives based on customer, regulatory, and market needs
Requirements & Product Development
• Develop and maintain product requirement specifications (PRS)
• Translate technical and customer requirements into clear product features
• Manage product backlog and feature prioritization
• Ensure traceability across design, development, and testing
Technical & Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with engineering, architecture, and UI/UX teams on product delivery
• Provide technical guidance during architecture and feature design reviews
• Ensure alignment with system design standards and platform architecture
• Coordinate across product, QA, and solutions engineering teams
Grid & Systems Integration
• Drive capabilities related to:
– Real-time telemetry and data acquisition
– Alarm and event management
– Historian integration
– Control command systems
– Grid and substation automation integration
Customer & Market Engagement
• Support technical discussions with utilities, renewable developers, and operators
• Provide product expertise during complex solution pursuits
• Gather customer feedback to inform roadmap and product enhancements
• Stay current on grid technologies and energy market trends
Requirements
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• 10–12+ years of experience in power systems, SCADA, or renewable plant automation
• Experience with utility control systems, grid monitoring, or energy platforms
• Experience managing product development or technical programs for industrial software
• Strong understanding of grid operations and system integration
