GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is seeking a qualified Technician Operations Technician II to support the safe and efficient operation of the state's transportation system. This position provides essential technical and operational support, maintaining the State of Wyomings public safety communication systems; including WyoLink as well as other public messaging systems. These communication and messaging systems are heavily relied upon by first responders and other emergency workers in their mission ensuring the health, safety and the welfare of the public. The role of this position is vital in maintaining these systems, and other equipment Wyomings public safety agencies require, guaranteeing they are operational 24/7 365 days a year.
Cheyenne is a steadily growing community along the Front Range but still true to the Old Wests history. The city offers nearby mountain biking, skiing, hiking, fishing, hunting, and other outdoor activities. Cheyenne is also home to the "Daddy of em All" - Cheyenne Frontier Days - Held every last week of July. Wyoming is one of the only seven states with no state income tax.

Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
Ideal candidates will have or be willing to obtain certifications in the following CPR/First aid, FCC GROL, WYDOT Tier I & Tier II certified climber.

0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Technical Operations) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Technical Operations Technician I
