GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Electronic Security Systems Technician plays a vital role in supporting the safety and security of Wyomings military facilities. By installing, operating, maintaining, and repairing electronic security systems throughout the state, this position helps protect personnel, facilities, and critical assets while serving Wyoming and those who serve our communities. All work is performed in accordance with Army National Guard Installation Electronic Security (ARNG-IES) Program Office guidelines, procedures, standards, and technical requirements to ensure reliable, effective security operations statewide.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed in the job level.

  • Maintain and repair the IDS system in AA&E vaults, secure open storage areas, and secure closed storage areas.
  • Understand system equipment installation, operation, and maintenance.
  • Ensure adequate spare parts, tools, and supplies are available to meet service requirements.
  • Ensure ARNG-approved-authorized equipment and/or RMF-certified systems are applied to ESS requirements and Schedule and track semiannual ESS preventive maintenance requirements and work order system that will sustain an audit.
  • Maintain Maintenance Log Records of all serviced Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) (to include preventive semi-annuals and emergency maintenance calls); Access Control Systems; Closed-Circuit Television.
  • Attend required ARNG-IES ESS IDS Certification Training, Supervisor-Lead Technician Course, Advanced (ACS and CCTV) Courses, and ESS standardized equipment manufacturer training as required.
  • Provide technical recommendations and analysis input into State construction (CFMO MILCON) projects, to ensure adequate ESS infrastructure and requirements are included in MILCON 1390/91 documents, in conjunction with ARNG-IES ESS Program Process 6.0 standards and criteria.
  • Monitor and track program systems progress, identifying any risks or issues and taking appropriate actions to mitigate them.
  • Obtain / Maintain Certifications: Maintain Low Voltage license. Maintain and repair IDS in AA&E vaults, secure open storage areas, and secure closed storage areas.
  • Complete OSHA 10 training and harness / tie-off training.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE:

  • High proficiency using the latest version of Microsoft (MS) Office Suite: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook.
  • Have an understanding of basic electronics, basic Cellular Technology principles, and troubleshooting systems using equipment/device wiring and block diagrams.
  • Written and verbal communication skills with Engineering (CFMO), Physical Security (G34), Information Management (G6), and Resourcing (USPFO). Communicate with other State ESS Program entities to identify emerging requirements, troubleshooting, or technical anomalies

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelors Degree

Experience:

0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Technical Operations) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Technical Operations Technician I

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Some agencies may require a valid Class C drivers license.

OR

Education & Experience Substitution:

3-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Technical Operations) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Technical Operations Technician I
