Major Duties and Responsibilities
The Technical Operations manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Technical Operations Division. This includes ensuring key performance indicators are being achieved, such as work order completion, efficient completion time, and customer satisfaction. In addition to these duties, the Technical Operations Manager is also responsible for procuring new technology for the CCG, including, but not limited to: laptops, desktops, cell phones, and other mobile devices. The Technical Operations Manager is expected to design leadership goals for his department and to provide I.T. leadership with strategic initiatives to achieve each year.
- Carries out managerial and supervisory responsibility, including hiring and training; plans, assigns, and directs work to employees; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
- Monitors leave time and hours worked for Technical Operations Division.
- Monitors the progress of assigned requests.
- Receives, reviews, and procures requests for new technology.
- Supervises the status of the mobile phone system to include, but not limited to, the ordering of new devices, user support for devices, and immediate payment of the mobile phone bill.
- Oversees the CCG's technology asset management system and uses data from it to prepare technology refresh cycles.
- Determines, plans, and presents recommendations for the future of the Technical Operations Division and the I.T. department to I.T. leadership.
- Oversees the accounts payable and payroll printing processes.
- Serves as a member of the I.T. Action Response Team.
- Build positive relationships with customers.
- Performs other related job duties as assigned.

Minimum Educational and Training Requirements
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field is required. Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the department to direct and coordinate work within the department is usually interpreted to require three to five years of related experience.
Physical Requirements
The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table. The employee must occasionally lift light objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:

Retirement Plan
The Columbus Consolidated Government offers a defined benefit retirement plan to eligible employees who work in General Government and in Public Safety. Employees in the pension plan must meet both age and years of service requirements to qualify for retirement. The current vesting period is ten years, and the current pension contribution rate is 8% of your gross salary.
