Tesla is seeking a Technical Lead for the Infotainment Applications Engineering team - the group responsible for the user interfaces and applications that power the Tesla in-vehicle experience. We're looking for a hands-on technical leader to guide a small team of engineers while driving the creation, development, and evolution of Tesla's customer-facing experiences. In this role you will set technical direction, mentor team members, ensure high standards of code quality and architecture, and collaborate closely with Hardware, Software, Game Development, QA, and Design teams. Lead and mentor a small team of software engineers, providing technical guidance, conducting code reviews, and fostering professional growth
Define and evolve the architecture, user experience, and front-end graphics for in-car infotainment applications
Drive rapid prototyping of new customer experiences while ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability
Design, code, and debug core UI interfaces and frameworks, balancing hands-on technical contributions with leadership responsibilities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Hardware Engineers, Software Engineers, QA, and Designers) to deliver polished, high-quality features
Establish and enforce best practices for multithreaded, high-performance code and intuitive user interfaces
Partner with product and design stakeholders to translate requirements into technical roadmaps and delivery plans
Proven experience leading or managing a small engineering team (or equivalent technical leadership roles) with a track record of delivering customer-facing software
Strong proficiency in C++ and deep understanding of fundamental Computer Science concepts
Experience writing and shipping high-quality, production customer-facing code
Demonstrated ability to architect and deliver state-of-the-art user interfaces or acclaimed consumer applications
Experience with multithreaded applications and high-performance web development frameworks (e.g., Svelte, ReactJS)
Excellent software engineering practices with high standards for code quality, maintainability, and performance
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to mentor engineers and influence cross-functional stakeholders
Aptitude for building intuitive, fluid user experiences and a willingness to learn new technologies across the stack
Passion for cutting-edge in-vehicle technology and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Supervisor Software Engineering - $140,000 - $210,000/annual salary
Associate Mgr Software Engineering - $180,000 - $270,000/annual salary
Mgr Software Engineering - $208,000 - $312,000/annual salary
Sr Mgr Software Engineering - $240,000 - $360,000/annual salary
