Technical Inside Sales Representative - Automation

Job Purpose

Providesdirectcontact for external and internal customers in the saleof instrumentation and controls, or specialty products, and works in conjunction with the Supply Management groups toensurecustomer specifications for equipment are met. This position alsoassistsin operational and administrative duties.

Responsibilities

Individualmust be able to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Provide technicalassistanceand support for customersregardingtechnical specifications of products, andtroubleshootapplications as needed.

• Able to size pneumatic and electric actuators for use on valves.

• Understand the customers’ business anddeterminecustomer requirements and expectationsin order torecommend specific products and solutions.

• Enter andmaintainpurchase orders, customer orders, procurementmatch, and trade discounts as needed.

• Maintain various records and files, including rebate files, stock transactions, price catalogs, customer lists, product catalogs, and discounts.

• Maintain knowledge of current product pricing.

• Obtain price quotes from vendors and Supply Management Groups for resale to customers and provide price quotes for customers.

• Establish rapport andprovideprompt responses to internal and external customers, vendors, and branch inquiries about material and the sales function (including warehouse errors, shortages, and damaged material).

• Maintain and approve quality standards.

• Set upthecorrect description of all inventory items.

• Add new inventory tothe systemas needed.

• Learn new procedures and product information asrequired.

• Maintain various records and files, including rebate files, stock transactions, price catalogs, customer lists, product catalogs, and discounts.

• Available to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime as requested (includingon-call).

• Perform other duties orprojectsassigned.

• Take reasonable care for the safety and health of yourself and others.

• Report workplace hazards, injuries, or illnessesimmediately.

Qualifications

Any combination of requirements thatprovidesthe knowledge and abilities necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities will be considered.

• An undergraduatedegree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

• Strong knowledge of PVF products, reasoning, analytical,mathand reading skills.

• Any combination of two or more years in customer service, inside sales and/or warehouse services in a position with increasing responsibility, to includedemonstratedsales experience.

• Demonstrated competence in the use of computers and software applications.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate and promote ideas and transfer detailed knowledge to others.

• Willingness and ability to travel within and outside the region regularly.

• Must have a current, valid driver’s license and acceptable record at all times.

Additional Qualifications

• Must have the ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status.

• Ability to read and speak the English language proficientlyin order tocommunicate with others, understand and interpret safety instructions, and respond to inquiries.

• Ability to understand andcomply withMRC guidelines and expectations,includingCode of Conduct and Conflict of Interest guidelines.
